Rick Dore:
Kustom Car Creations from an Arizona Stylist

Vehicle stylist Rick Dore hails from New York but calls Arizona home. Be it a classic American motor car, street-savvy SUV or tricked-out tuner, each of Dore's radical creations captures the spirit of the American car culture.

Dore decorates the highways and boulevards with daring designs that challenge the traditional text of automotive art. With fresh flowing lines and a rich palette of paint, he strays from convention and assets a style all his own.

Terry Cook, noted show car builder and former editor of Hot Rod Magazine, has declared of Dore:
"He has an incredible eye for design and at the same time an uncanny good taste and color sense. Rick Dore creations are unquestionably the very best in the world...he has the ability to build cars and trucks that, on one hand, represent the epitome of traditionally flavored custom cars, but at the same time he reaches out and goes where nobody has gone before."

In the past decade, Dore has been called upon to tailor his creative talents to the automotive aftermarket's most prestigious stage - the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas. His artistic touch and ability to deliver meticulously detailed vehicles have earned him the SEMA spotlight and the admiration of major car manufacturers. Dore's show-stopping styles have graced the exhibits of the Ford Motor Company, General Motors, the Daimler Chrysler Corporation and Hyundai, with stylish new products for the aftermarket.

The road to Dore's astounding success began in 1992 with a chopped 1957 Buick dubbed "Lavender Persuasion." It was followed by a 1953 Buick "Breathless" then "Majestic", a two-door hardtop 1949 Cadillac and then "Tangerine Dream", a 1936 Ford Cabriolet embellished with a gleaming white Carson-style top and distinctive Packard grille that some say was his "breakthrough" creation. In its wake came "Tango" a 1963 T-bird along with an immense yet seemingly delicate sky-powder blue 1956 Lincoln Markll titled "ReMARKable", and the list goes on. Indeed, whether a radical custom car, SUV or new model car, every Rick Dore creation is a masterpiece.

Dore's resume is an impressive collection of automotive industry accolades, including the Harley Bradley Design Achievement, World's Most Beautiful Custom, Goodguy's Custom d'Elegance and Harry Westergard awards. Dore has also captured numerous design, style and paint awards at the venerable Oakland Rod & Custom Show - including 7 individual honors at the 2003 gathering. A member of San Francisco Rod, Custom & Morotcycle Hall od Fame, the Daryl Starbird Museum, Grand National Roadster Show Hall of Fame, and Sacramento Autorama Hall of Fame. Dore has been named "Builder of the Year" on several occasions by various hot rod and custom car organizations. Rick Dore Kustom car creations have adorned the covers of Hot Rod, Street Rodder, Custom Rodder, Rod & Custom magazine, Rodders Journal and numerous International magazines. His works have been broadcast on high-profile television outlets Speedvision and The Hot Rod Show.
